 Dear colleagues,

As part of its commitment to actively supporting an inclusive and diverse community of Cultural Studies researchers in Australasia, the CSAA Executive Committee is currently seeking to expand its core membership to include a number of Inclusion and Diversity Co-ordinators.

Inclusion and Diversity Co-ordinators will facilitate communication between the CSAA Executive and members who identify as LGBTIQA+, PoC, Indigenous, PwD, are in casual employment or otherwise in need of additional support. The role of Inclusion and Diversity Co-ordinators is to assist the CSAA Executive in ensuring inclusivity in the association as a whole, by addressing concerns of the above communities, and integrating inclusive language and operational strategies throughout the association's events and communication. Co-ordinators will also mediate between different member contingents, making room for minority viewpoints and concerns, and ensuring respectful interaction.

The CSAA Executive anticipates making more than one appointment into these roles, to cover our different community needs. The first appointment is Karin Sellberg (UQ), who will take steerage particularly of LGBTIQA+ matters. More information about the CSAA and its executive roles can be found here: http://csaa.asn.au/about/executive/

If you are interested in nominating for one of these roles, please contact me in the first instance: e.stephens at uq.edu.au<mailto:e.stephens at uq.edu.au>

The CSAA Executive is also seeking postgraduate representatives, who will liaise with the Executive regarding matters of special concern to our postgraduate cohort, and who will have the opportunity to provide input on the organisation of this year’s PreFix day, which will be held immediately before the CSAA conference. More information about PreFix can be found here: https://csaaconference2019.wordpress.com/prefix/

Those of you supervising postgraduates in Cultural Studies, please do encourage them to consider nominating as postgraduate representatives. Nominations can be sent to me at e.stephens at uq.edu.au<mailto:e.stephens at uq.edu.au>.

Best wishes,

Elizabeth
