The Media Arts department at Royal Holloway, University of London, is
pleased to be able to offer the following scholarships and fee waivers
to well-qualified postgraduate research students in the academic year
2011-12. These include *one Reid Scholarship *(worth £13,250 p.a. plus
fee waiver at home/EU rate for three years); *three College Research
Scholarships*, which will pay for three years? tuition fees at the
standard home/EU rate; *one Crosslands Scholarship* (worth £5,000 p.a.),
*one College Maintenance Award* (worth £6,000 p.a.) and one *College
Overseas Fees Scholarship *(worth £9,000 p.a.). All awards ? which may
be combined - are made on a competitive basis, based on your past
academic achievement and the strength of your research proposal.
However, we are particularly keen to attract applicationsin the
following areas: television; regional, national, and world cinemas;
modernist film and art practice; practice-based research and/or research
involving reflection upon creative and industrial practices.
If you wish to be considered for any of these scholarships and fee
waivers, please indicate for which one(s) you are applying when
submitting your application for a place of study. Please submit your
application, which should include a detailed research proposal, no later
than *29 April 2011.*

MeCCSA is the subject association for the field of media, communication
and cultural studies in UK Higher Education. Membership is open to all
who teach and research these subjects in HE institutions, via either
institutional or individual membership. The field includes film and TV
production, journalism, radio, photography, creative writing,
publishing, interactive media and the web; and it includes higher
education for media practice as well as for media studies.
