                Media Arts department at Royal Holloway, <st1:place
                  w:st="on"><st1:placetype w:st="on">University</st1:placetype>
                  of <st1:placename w:st="on">London</st1:placename></st1:place>,
                is pleased to be able to offer the following
                scholarships and fee waivers to well-qualified
                postgraduate research students in the academic year
                2011-12.&nbsp; These include <strong>one Reid Scholarship </strong>(worth
                &pound;13,250 p.a. plus fee waiver at home/EU rate for three
                years); <strong>three College Research Scholarships</strong>,
                which will pay for three years&#146; tuition fees at the
                standard home/EU rate; <strong>one Crosslands
                  Scholarship</strong> (worth &pound;5,000 p.a.), <strong>one
                  College Maintenance Award</strong> (worth &pound;6,000 p.a.)
                and one <b style="">College Overseas Fees Scholarship </b>(worth
                &pound;9,000 p.a.). All awards &#150; which may be combined - are
                made on a competitive basis, based on your past academic
                achievement and the strength of your research proposal.
                However, we are particularly keen to attract
                applications<span style=""> <span lang="EN-GB">in the
                    following areas: television; regional, national, and
                    world cinemas; </span></span>modernist film and art
                practice; practice-based research and/or research
                involving reflection upon <span style="color: black;">creative
                  and industrial practices. </span></font></font></font></p>

    MeCCSA is the subject association for the field of media,
    communication and cultural studies in UK Higher Education.
    Membership is open to all who teach and research these subjects in
    HE institutions, via either institutional or individual membership.
    The field includes film and TV production, journalism, radio,
    photography, creative writing, publishing, interactive media and the
    web; and it includes higher education for media practice as well as
    for media studies.
