This is an amended notice of the upcoming Lecture by Professor Andrew
Crisell (University of Sunderland, UK) to be hosted by the Media, Music and
Cultural Studies Department of the Arts Faculty of Macquarie University.
Please note this previously advertised public lecture has had a venue and
time change.
Professor Andrew Crisell (UK, University of Sunderland) will be addressing
the topic of radio in the world of new media.
Lecture Title: 'Has steam radio run out of steam? Sound broadcasting in a
world of new media'

Andrew Crisell is Professor of Broadcasting Studies at the University of
Sunderland. He has written many authoritative books, book chapters and
journal articles in the field of broadcasting history and studies including
the books, Understanding Radio (1994), An Introductory History of British
Broadcasting (2002) and A Study of Modern Television: Thinking Inside the
Box (2006). He is a member of the editorial boards of the Radio Journal and
the Journal of Media Business Studies and has just co-written a book on
radio journalism with Dr Guy Starkey. He has also just edited a new title in
the Routledge 'Major Works" Series, a four volume reference collection:
Radio - Critical Concepts in Media and Cultural Studies.
