CALL FOR PAPERS
The Pacific in Australia - Australia in the Pacific
The inaugural conference of the
Australian Association for the Advancement of Pacific Studies
Carseldine Campus, Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane
Tuesday 24th January to Friday 27th January 2006.
The conference over four days will showcase Australian excellence in
disciplinary and interdisciplinary research, scholarship and tertiary
teaching about the Pacific Islands. The conference will also include the
launch of AAAPS, (the Australian Association for the Advancement of Pacific
Studies), an initiative to promote the teaching and study of the Pacific
Islands in Australian Universities. Papers are now invited for the four
themes addressed by the conference. The proceedings will be peer reviewed
for online access through EPrint and a publication is planned. For further

To register a paper, send the title, abstract of 100 words, name and
affiliation, by August 30th 2005 to < <mailto:m.quanchi at qut.edu.au>

final mss for peer review is due on October 30th 2005.
Registration, teas and lunch during the conference are free. Full electronic
access and data projection is available. Delegates must meet their own
