Hi,
I am after some information that doesn't directly relate to the purpose
of the list but in this era of the commercialisation of research I
thought it would be a good place to start.
Does anyone know of an accountant they can recommend that has some
experience in dealing with research students, tax free scholarships,
and sole trader businesses (ie you have your own ABN)? I went and saw a
regular 30-day tax person and he had no idea. Rather than him charge me
for the time it takes him to figure out what the
requirements/procedures are I thought someone on here might be able to
recommend someone else. Has anyone else been dumbfounded/apathetic when
facing the rigmorale of tax as a postgrad in this day and age?
Cheers,
Glen.
