This may be of interest to some.

Hi Everybody,

The 33 1/3 Oceania series, published by Bloomsbury, is looking for more expressions of interest. Books in the series are 30,000 words. Each is founded on a specific album. The books are written in diverse styles having the common feature that they are aimed at second year undergraduates and above, and academics, but might also attract a more general readership. The 33 1/3 Oceania series is related to the main 33 1/3 series. You can find the webpage for that series here: https://www.bloomsbury.com/us/series/33-13/ . The 33 1/3 Oceania series started considering proposals last year. At present six books are under contract with more proposals under review. We are excited at the possibilities the series offers for academic work on popular music in the region.

At this time we are particularly focused on suggestions for books on albums by female artists, Indigenous and Maori artists and artists from minority groups. At the same time this should not dissuade prospective authors with other interests. For example, the series has as yet no proposal for a book on an Oz Rock album or a Dunedin Sound album, an Australian surf album or a Pasifika album. Also, please remember that the series is regional and suggestions for books on albums from places in the region other than Australia and Aotearoa/New Zealand are encouraged.

Please consider contributing to the series. Jon Dale is our specialist on albums from Aotearoa/New Zealand. He can be contacted on jonathon.dale at gmail.com<mailto:jonathon.dale at gmail.com> . Jon Stratton has overall responsibility for the series. I can be contacted on jon_stratton22 at outlook.com.au<mailto:jon_stratton22 at outlook.com.au> or jon.stratton at unisa.edu.au<mailto:jon.stratton at unisa.edu.au> .

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Jon
