LEARNING FROM GIRLS STUDIES FOR BOYS STUDIES

PhD opportunity in Gender & Cultural Studies, The University of Sydney (further information here<https://www.sydney.edu.au/arts/study/scholarships/phd-scholarships/learning-from-girls-studies-for-boys-studies.html>)

An exciting opportunity for a commencing PhD student to join a strong team of leading and emergent scholars undertaking feminist research on boys and boyhood, and youth and masculinity. The successful PhD candidate will be based in the Department of Gender and Cultural Studies<https://www.sydney.edu.au/arts/schools/school-of-philosophical-and-historical-inquiry/department-of-gender-and-cultural-studies.html> at the University of Sydney. The Boys Studies research team formed at the University of Sydney in 2019, drawing on interdisciplinary expertise in gender, sexuality, and cultural studies. The aim of this group is to engage with the need for feminist researchers to engage with the experience and representation of boys and boyhood, youth and masculinity in the changing contemporary sociocultural environment.

Applicants are invited to submit a proposal for PhD research that aligns directly to this project and makes a contribution to feminist research into boys and boyhood, or youth and masculinity. For more information regarding applying for a PhD, see the University of Sydney info page<https://www.sydney.edu.au/arts/study/scholarships/phd-scholarships/learning-from-girls-studies-for-boys-studies.html> or contact Professor Catherine Driscoll<mailto:catherine.driscoll at sydney.edu.au>.
