 Dear All,

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to the 2018
AsiaPacific at RMIT Seminar
Series.

*Date*: Wednesday, 12 Septembert 2018
*Time*: 12:30 pm – 1.30 pm
*Venue*: B013-04.02 (Boardroom in the Emily McPherson Building, 405 Russell
St <https://maps.google.com/?q=405+Russell+St&entry=gmail&source=g>.)
*Presenter*: Assoc. Prof Anne Harris, School of Education, RMIT University

*Title*: Transforming 21st Century Creativity Education in Australasia

This seminar is based on my current research project addressing the
development of Australasian creativity education, a core component of
creative economic and cultural policy, by attending to intercultural
understanding and creative collaboration. My project thus recognises and
values creative practice as culturally- and contextually-generated, and
investigates the unique contribution of an ‘Australasian creativity’ as
specific to this geopolitical place. By looking across the education
lifespan and creative economic practices and goals, my work aims to build
transnational understanding and alliances for regional and global creative
economic success.

*Bio*:
Associate Professor Anne M. Harris is an RMIT Principal Research Fellow, an
Australian Research Council Future Fellow (2017-2021), and the director of
Creative Agency, a transdisciplinary research lab at RMIT University.
Harris researches gender, creativity, and performance ethnography, is a
native New Yorker and has worked professionally as a playwright, filmmaker,
teaching artist and journalist in the USA and Australia. Some of their
intercultural collaborative arts based research can be seen at
www.creativeresearchhub.com

The seminar is a brown bag lunch event. Please RSVP
catherine.gomes at rmit.edu.au by Friday 7 September.
