CALL FOR PAPERS
Vines Resort, Western Australia
(Spring in the Swan Valley)
24th and 25th October 2016

This symposium addresses the problematic relationship that users of digital technologies have with the information held about their conduct, contacts and the contents of what they produce and circulate online. Whilst this is a complex issue for adults, an additional level of uncertainty is introduced when the users are minors and, especially, when they are pre- schoolers. What do we know about who controls the information produced by or with children in their digital explorations? Are remedies available to address the gaps in
transparency and accountability and, if so, do they offer a solution? How accessible are such strategies for parents, caregivers and young
people themselves?

250 word abstract
