Dear Colleagues,
The Contemporary Emotions Research Network (CERN) is now active. This network has been organised and supported by the Faculty of Law Humanities and Arts at the University of Wollongong, Australia. The purpose of this network is to build the research capacity of academics in, and promote research on, emotions in contemporary social contexts. CERN will extend the focus of research beyond traditional psychological and classical-historical concerns with emotions. It will examine and interlink emotions research from a range of contemporary fields, including sociology, philosophy, politics, law, cultural studies, literature, modern history, and creative arts and media.
Attached is a call for papers for our upcoming inaugural workshop to be held in Sydney (UOW CBD campus) on Friday September 25, 2015. The workshop is titled "Researching and Measuring Emotions and Affect in Contemporary Society". It will involve a series of presentations on emotions research, and represent an opportunity for many of us in the broad field of emotions research to meet and discuss future collaborations.
Kind regards,
Sarah Sorial and Roger Patulny (co-convenors of CERN).
