2012 Australian Screen Production Education and Research Association (ASPERA) Annual Conference & AGM

WHERE: Queensland University of Technology - BRISBANE, QLD, AUSTRALIA

WHEN: 02 July 2012 - 05 July 2012

CALL FOR ABSTRACTS:

Creativity: the Measurable and the Immeasurable

"Everything you can imagine is real" (Pablo Picasso.)

Contemporary culture is awash with conflicting and at times contradictory notions of 'creativity' and innovation. In this the 9th ASPERA annual conference we hope to unpack, explore and examine how creativity works and how these ideas impact on the screen and in our classrooms.

 - What are the tensions between 'creative economy' notions of creativity and its link to innovation as opposed to traditional creative arts?

- To what extent is it true that 'Creative thinking is not a talent, it is a skill that can be learnt' (de Bono) or indeed, taught?

- In what ways can creativity be truly measured?

ABSTRACT SUBMISSIONS: Closing date for submissions of proposals is June 16, 2012.

GUIDELINES FOR PROPOSALS: 250 word limit on abstracts. Conference presentations to run approx.20-30mins.

ENQUIRIES - email: s.maher at qut.edu.au

Full conference papers can be submitted to the ASPERA Executive Committee AFTER the 2012 conference for journal publication
