New Communities, New Racisms (AAI 4: The 4th AASRN conference)
The 4th AASRN conference will be held 10-11 November 2011 (Thurs-Fri)
at the University of Melbourne, Parkville, Vic.

Professor Ghassan Hage (University of Melbourne)
Professor Meaghan Morris (Lingnan University and University of Sydney)
Benjamin Law (The Family Law, Frankie magazine)
Alice Pung (Unpolished Gem, Growing Up Asian in Australia)

The conference committee is now inviting submissions for individual
papers focusing on topics relating to the event themes and Asian
Australian identities.
Suggested topics include:
Emerging communities – issues and engagement
Political activism, community representation
Social media and Web 2.0
New queer politics
Asian Australian Studies internationally

The committee is also happy to consider papers that address other Asian
Australian issues and topics.
Please send abstracts (200 words) and biographical notes about the
author(s) (50 words) to the Conference Committee
