The Journalism and Media Research Centre (JMRC) at the University of New South Wales welcomes enquiries from Early Career Researchers in the fields of Digital Media, Media and Communications, Journalism, Public Relations and Cultural Studies, currently preparing a DECRA application for 2012.

The Centre undertakes research of high quality and impact across the fields of journalism, communication and media and makes significant contribution to public and industry debate and policy; and provides a focus for journalism, media and related areas across UNSW. UNSW was ranked 4 overall in the ERA, and received a 5 in the area of Film, Television and Digital Media.

The JMRC is partner of the ARC Centre of Excellence for Creative Industries and Innovation (CCI) at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), the first Centre of Excellence whose lead disciplines are based outside the science, engineering and technology sectors.

We are a small, dedicated research team, who place a high value on mentoring and career development. We offer ECRs private office space, administrative support, and opportunities for disseminating research results in both scholarly publications and the public sphere. We also offer opportunities to apply for competitive research funding with senior researchers, and to develop teaching expertise, if desired.
