Dear CSAA forum subscribers,

In what may be a first for a radio program, Arts Alive, a weekly current affairs radio program, was recognised in the 2008 Manning Clark House awards for its contribution to Australian culture.

The program is produced and presented by Dr Vincent O'Donnell and supported by RMIT University. The 600th edition of Arts Alive went to air on 29 December and investigated the claims by the NGV to have authenticated a portrait as being of Lucrezia Borgia by the 16th century Italian artist Dosso Dossi.

In its normal format, it carries a news bulletin, current affairs stories and a weekly guest. Arts Alive is heard on the national Community Radio Network and SBS digital. Though audience figures are hard to estimate in these markets, the weekly audience is thought to be around 75,000.
