Hi everyone
We are advertising a position this coming week (in the HES) for a
Lecturer Level A/B in Communications and Writing. It is a 3 year
contract position, teaching Communications and Writing and/or English.
Position Summary: Applicants with a relevant PhD (or a submitted PhD, in
the case of appointment at Level A) are invited from all areas of media,
communications and writing, but those with research and teaching
expertise in one or more of the following areas would be particularly
welcome: contemporary communications theory and/or literary theory;
media studies; communications policy; audience research; analysis of
media and literary texts; theories and techniques of writing; grammar
and linguistic analysis. The successful applicant will be expected to
contribute to the undergraduate teaching program. A Level A appointee
will demonstrate success in undergraduate teaching and an emerging track
record in research. A Level B appointee will demonstrate success in
teaching at all levels, have a strong record of research and the ability
to attract postgraduate students and may be involved in Honours and
postgraduate supervision.

possible to live in Melbourne and commute (and the fast rail project is
