Subject Coordinator - Politics, Communication, Media
The Media and Communications Program at the University of Melbourne
is advertising a fixed-task/fixed-term (6 month) casual academic
position, which will entail the coordination of the subject
Politics, Communication Media in Semester 1, 2006.
The key responsibilities of the position will include:
subject coordination;
the preparation and deliver of lectures;
preparation and delivery of seminars;
consultation with students;
marking and assessment assignments connected with the subject and the
coordination of marking administration;
administrative functions primarily connected with the said subject.
Essential Selection Criteria include:
Demonstrated teaching ability in the field of politics and media;
Completion or near completion of a PhD in a relevant area;
Capacity to deal efficiently with administrative tasks relevant to
the position;
Demonstrated ability to interact positively with academic and
administrative staff;
Demonstrated ability to interact positively with students.
