Dear CSAA people.
A new fellowship scheme (for Level B & C) with an industry/community link
just announced. My research centre (Centre for Research on Social Inclusion)
is keen to attract potential applicants. Please drop me a line if you are
interested in applying.
Cheers

Macquarie University Vice-Chancellor's Innovation Fellowship Scheme
2006
As Australia's Innovative University, Macquarie University seeks to
develop research programs of high quality which are closely linked to
Australian/international industry and other end-user organisations and
communities. The Vice-Chancellor's Innovation Fellowship (MQVCIF)
Scheme is designed to attract outstanding researchers to the University
who will focus on developing effective research collaborations with
Australian/international organisations from industry, commerce,
government (excluding publicly funded research agencies) and community
groups. The research may be undertaken in any discipline area of the
University, though it must be aligned to designated research strengths.
Macquarie University will offer up to three (3) Vice-Chancellor's
Innovation Fellowships in the first round of the Scheme, for full-time
appointments tenable from 1 February 2006. Fellowships will be awarded
on a competitive basis and will be tenable for two (2) years in the
first instance, with provision for renewal for up to five (5) further
years, subject to satisfactory performance against agreed objectives.
These will include as a minimum, successful application/negotiation for
a substantial industry-linked (and externally-funded) research project
covering the period of the extended appointment. Preference may be given
to applicants from areas outside science and technology for one (1) of
the Fellowships.
Appointments will be made at either Level B or Level C of the Academic
Salary Scale - the Scheme also provides for funding to meet initial
research costs of up to $40,000 over the first two (2) years.
Funding Rules and application material are available from the Research
Office website at http://www.ro.mq.edu.au/fund/internal/mqvcif/
Applications must be submitted in both hard copy to the Research Office
and electronically to karyn.knowles at vc.mq.edu.au by 5.00pm on Friday 25
November.
Any queries relating to this Scheme should be directed to Ms Karyn
Knowles, ext 8609 or email Karyn.Knowles at vc.mq.edu.au
