Dear colleagues

Kane

Thinking of a Masters by Research in 2006?

Master of Arts by Research in Health, Sexuality & Culture at UNSW –
Scholarships Available

The interdisciplinary program in Health, Sexuality & Culture at UNSW offers
students with a social science, humanities, or health background the
opportunity to undertake postgraduate research in any area of sex, culture,
health and/or the politics of medicine.

Our MA by Research courses equip students with the conceptual, practical
and critical skills necessary for advanced work in the fields of sex,
drugs, body politics, and health - including valuable empirical skills.

The program is housed at the National Centre in HIV Social Research - a
friendly and dynamic academic environment with a proven track-record in
research which has policy and practice impact in the areas of HIV,
hepatitis C, illicit drug use and sexual health.

Because the MA by Research comes under the category of a research program,
it does not attract any tuition fees for Australian or New Zealand
residents. Research students must however pay the normal student activity
fees that are applicable.

Scholarships

The Consortium for Social and Policy Research on HIV, Hepatitis C and
Related Diseases is offering four $2500 scholarships for the Masters by
Research in Health, Sexuality and Culture. These scholarships are for one
year only. (Students will need to apply for APA or other scholarships for
living stipend).

We welcome applications from people working in the sector and other
interested graduates.

Applicants must have an honours degree in Arts or Social Sciences or a
bachelors degree with equivalent research experience.
You are encouraged to contact the Centre before applying.
