Applications are invited for appointment to the above position, which 
will be offered on a full-time tenurable basis, to commence in early 
2005.
Applicants are expected to have a PhD and a strong disciplinary 
background in an area relevant to Journalism, Media and 
Communications. In addition, applicants should be able to teach in 
introductory units. Research & teaching interests in new media or 
broadcast media are particularly desirable.
Successful experience of undergraduate and/or postgraduate teaching, 
particularly using non-traditional or flexible delivery teaching 
modes, would be an advantage. A record of scholarship and publication 
in Journalism, Media Studies or Communications is also preferred. A 
proven ability to communicate and work effectively and co-operatively 
with colleagues and students is essential.
The appointment at Academic Level A will have a total remuneration 
package of up to $64,537 per annum (comprising salary within the 
range $41,289 - $55,160 plus 17% superannuation). An appointment at 
Academic Level B will have a total remuneration package of up to 
$79,924 per annum (comprising salary within the range $57,935 - 
$68,311 plus 17% superannuation).
