RSVP by Monday 20 September 3.00pm to: (02) 9685 9600 or

Many potential higher degree applicants have concerns about their
eligibility for study, the possibilities for supervision, access to
facilities, and financial support. The purpose of this session is to
familiarise higher degree applicants with the current opportunities that
exist at UWS. The session is open to all potential higher degree applicants
in the College for Education, Arts, and Sciences, even if they are not
intending to study at the Centre for Cultural Research (CCR). A light lunch
will be served after the session and applicants will have an opportunity to
interact with potential supervisors at the CCR.

The CCR is a grouping of researchers, academics, and postgraduates, led by
internationally renowned cultural theorist Professor Ien Ang. CCR
researchers come from a wide range of academic areas. Specialties include
globalisation, migration, racism, multiculturalism, national identity,
material culture, sociology of youth, cultural diversity,
colonial/postcolonial relations, racialisation and criminalisation,
cultural geography, gender studies, education and inequality, Asian
cultural studies, contemporary uses of public space, postmodern theory,
public policy, lesbian and gay theory, feminist theory, and new
communications technologies.
