* Lecturer in Cultural Studies
Reference 05/21AE
 
We are seeking to appoint a lecturer in Cultural Studies to teach
courses and provide seminar support at undergraduate and MA level, to
supervise undergraduate and MA dissertations and to undertake
administrative/pastoral roles in the department. You would also be
expected to pursue research and publish at a level which would maintain
or enhance the department's research profile.
 
We encourage applications from specialists in either media studies,
cultural studies or communication studies, who have a strong research
record, a coherent future research agenda, and teaching experience at
undergraduate and preferably postgraduate level.
 
Salary will be Lecturer A scale: £25,777 - £29,250 per annum inclusive
of £2,134 London Weighting Allowance.
 
* Lecturer in Transnational and Global Media
Reference 05/20AE
 
We are seeking to appoint a lecturer in Transnational and Global Media
with particular responsibility for the MA in Transnational
Communications and Global Media. You would teach courses and provide
seminar support at undergraduate and MA level, supervise undergraduate
and MA dissertations, supervise MPhil and PhD students and undertake
administrative/pastoral roles in the department. You would also be
expected to pursue research and publish at a level which would maintain
or enhance the department's research profile.
 
We encourage applications from specialists in Transnational Cultural and
Media Studies who have a strong research record, a coherent future
research agenda, and teaching experience at undergraduate and
postgraduate level.
 
Salary will be Lecturer B scale £30,123 - £38,017 or Senior Lecturer
scale £39,692 - £44,707 per annum inclusive of £2,134 London Weighting
Allowance.
 
* Temporary Lecturer in New Technologies of Communication
1 Year fixed term post

A one year full time replacement post requiring expertise in media,
communications and/or cultural studies with a specialism in new
technologies and an ability, preferably, to work across theory and
practice.
 
You would be required to teach on the MA Digital Media, the BA course
Introducing New Technologies, and you will supervise students at
undergraduate and postgraduate level.
 
Salary will be Lecturer A scale: £25,777 - £29,250 per annum inclusive
of £2,134 London Weighting Allowance.
 
* Half-time Lecturer in Print Journalism (0.5fte)
Reference 05/19AE
 
We are seeking to appoint a lecturer in Print Journalism. You will be a
journalist with solid experience of sub editing and layout with Quark
Express, and a knowledge of how systems are used in the industry. You
should also have experience of web editing and (preferably) a working
knowledge of Dream Weaver and/or an equivalent web publishing system.
You will teach across a range of programmes at MA and undergraduate
level and you will be an adaptable, well-organised and reflective
practitioner who can inspire students but also encourage them to be
critical of their own work and that of others. The successful candidate
will demonstrate an interest in continuing professional work and/or
journalism research and will contribute on a pro rata basis to
departmental administration. You will have a degree and a post graduate
journalism qualification would be desirable.
 
Salary will be Lecturer A scale: £25,777 - £29,250 or Lecturer B scale
£30,123 - £38,017 per annum inclusive of £2,134 London Weighting
Allowance, pro-rata for part-time work.
