2005(fwd)

From: NOV Graduate Programme <novphd at let.uu.nl>
Dear all,

This is to let you know that the deadline for the Intensive
International
Graduate Programme 2005 of the Netherlands Research School of Women's
Studies (NOV, Utrecht University) is September 1, 2004. This 5-month
programme, including courses and seminars, runs yearly from February
till
June and concentrates either on 'Body Issues' or 'Gender and Social
Policy'. More information: http://www.let.uu.nl/nov/phd/intens.html

The NOV is a succesfull training center in the Netherlands for
postgraduate
students which received in 1994 the highest academic creditation as a
Ph.D.
degree-awarding institution from the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts
and
Sciences. It provides a rigorous platform for training post-graduate
students in a stimulating learning environment. The curriculum aims at
offering tuition on a range of thematic and methodological issues which
are
central to gender research and to international scholarship on gender
today. The NOV is directed by Prof.dr. Rosi Braidotti since 1995 and is
housed at Utrecht University, the Netherlands.

The course work of the NOV is organized around two main research lines:
"Identity, Representation and Embodiment", with a clear orientation
towards
the humanities and cultural studies and "Policy, Politics and
Organisation", which is directed towards the social sciences.

To accomodate the individual needs of foreign students the NOV has the
following educational options available:

* Intensive International Graduate Programme:
concentrating either on "Body Issues" or on "Gender and Social Policy".
This five-month programme runs every year from February-June and is open
to
very advanced Ma students and Ph.D. students from abroad.

* One-Year Ph.D. Training in Gender and Women's Studies:
one-year interdisciplinary programme (10 months) for graduated MA
students
and Ph.D. students from abroad.

* Individual Coaching Sessions:
with a selected NOV-supervisor. No specific period or time limitations
are
attached to this option. In order to make the necessary arrangements you
must apply at least 4 months before your visit.

More information on deadlines, registration, eligibility and tuition
fees
can be requested from the International Ph.D. coordinator
(novphd at let.uu.nl) or check the website:
http://www.let.uu.nl/nov/eng/index.html

Thanking you in advance.

Yours sincerely,

Prof.dr. Rosi Braidotti
Director NOV

Ms Trude Oorschot
Coordinator NOV
