<div style="margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;" class=""><span class=""><span class=""><font color="#000000" class=""><span lang="EN-US" class="">The Climate Justice Research Centre at UTS is seeking a PhD research student to focus on the development of renewable
energy in India. The student will be linked to an ARC Discovery project, 2018-21, ‘</span><span lang="EN-US" class="">Decarbonising Electricity: a Comparison in Socio-ecological Relations’. The</span><span lang="EN-US" class=""><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>project
investigates how legitimacy for renewable energy can be won or lost, and focuses on regions in Germany, India and Australia undergoing ‘energy transition’. The project uses ethnography combined with social and political analysis to understand what can be done
to enhance the transition to renewable energy. The successful applicant will</span><span lang="EN-US" class=""><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>be based in India for a significant proportion of their studies and will develop their own focus for
doctoral research on a topic related to the ARC project. They will be encouraged to become a full member of the project team, and be available to assist project participants and India-based research assistants both in terms of data gathering and the conceptual
development of the project. Relevant research experience and demonstrable interest in the issue of decarbonisation is required; the ability to speak and read an Indian language is also a requirement.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span><br class="">
