<div style=""><span style="font-size: 11pt;">The Australian Screen Production Education and Research Association (ASPERA) Annual Conference will be held at the VCA, University of Melbourne, Australia, between 27 and 29 June 2018.</span></div>
<div style=""><span style="font-size: 11pt;">This year’s conference theme is<b><i> Screen Interventions</i></b>. We’re interested in the ways that screen production can be used to ‘intervene’ in wider cultural, social and political ideas and debates; how interventions
might be made with, by and/or for the screen; and what interventions have taken place in screen production education and research. We encourage those submitting abstracts to interpret this theme variously.</span></div>
<div style=""><span style="font-size: 11pt;">The conference convenors invite papers, topics for panels, interactive workshops, posters and exhibits that explore the concept of screen interventions.</span></div>
<div style=""><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Both double-blind, peer reviewed full papers, and non-peer reviewed papers are welcome to be presented.</span></div>
<div style=""><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Double-blind peer reviewed papers will have the opportunity to be published after the conference in a special issue of
<b><i>Refractory: a Journal of Entertainment Media</i></b> (<a href="https://refractory-journal.com" class="OWAAutoLink" id="LPlnk527716" previewremoved="true">https://refractory-journal.com</a>).</span></div>
<div style=""><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Postgraduate student submissions, and submissions from international academics and practitioners, are strongly encouraged.</span></div>
<div style=""><span style="font-size: 11pt;">Please submit all proposals and enquiries to conference@aspera.org.au </span></div>
