CFP: IAFOR Journal of Media, Communication and Film Issue 4

Theme: Alternative narratives

Within an internationalised media environment that increasingly favours transnational collaborations, the local or alternative voice can offer a means to counteract the homogenisation of media, messages and ideology. In particular, the counter publics of
non-mainstream stories highlight human experiences that cast history, politics and culture in a different light and prompt reflection and reflexivity.

This issue invites papers exploring the forms, functions and effects of alternative narratives in contemporary media, film, politics and culture.
