<strong class="">Dr Priyamvada Gopal</strong> is a Reader at the University of Cambridge in Anglophone and Related Literature. Her new book, <em class="">Insurgent Empire</em>, is due out with Verso in 2017 and follows <em class="">Literary Radicalism in India:
Gender, Nation and the Transition to Independence</em> (2005) and <em class="">The Indian English Novel: Nation, History and Narration</em> (2009). A regular writer for The Guardian, The Independent and Times Higher Education Supplement (UK), The Nation (USA),
The Hindu and Open (India), she also has appeared on the BBC, Channel 4, Al Jazeera and NDTV (India).</p>
