<p class="MsoPlainText">As the Australian Research Council Linkage Project ‘Rethinking Multiculturalism/ Reassessing Multicultural Education’ draws to a close, we will be hosting Rethinking Multicultural Education: Research, Policy, Practice, <<a href="http://www.uws.edu.au/ics/events/rethinking_multicultural_education_conference">http://www.uws.edu.au/ics/events/rethinking_multicultural_education_conference</a>>
a two-day conference on 27-28 November that showcases the project's findings, and engages with key stakeholders in this area.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">Day 1 is directed to academics and those working in policy in this area. With links to the three project reports, it will involve three themed sessions:<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">* Multicultural and ESL education: issues around teacher education and professional learning<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">* Intercultural understanding and anti-racism<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">* Rethinking multiculturalism and multicultural education: knowledge translation and engaged research<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">Academics, policy-makers, practitioners and community representatives will be asked to respond to the findings and to relate these to broader issues associated with these themes.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoPlainText">Day 2 will have a practitioner focus with professional learning sessions open to educational directors, principals and teachers in NSW Department of Education and Community schools across NSW. You are welcome to attend Day 1 and/or
Day 2. Both days are BOSTES accredited for NSW DEC teachers. Registration is free though places are strictly limited.<o:p></o:p></p>
