top down governance for heterarchicalforms that give rise to meritocracy, where valued, well-recognised users play central governing roles. Historically, organisations have employed community managers to facilitate the harmonious integration of user participation
with corporate bureaucracy. However, as online communities, platforms and communication paradigms sophisticate, the community manager’s role is only one part of a larger internet governance regime and network ofcultural intermediaries.</span><span style="font-family: Verdana; "><o:p></o:p></span></span></p>

Planet) forums and Fairfax’s Essential Baby, to their current roles heading up two of the nation’s leading social media management agencies. Michalk and Paech will be joined by Dr Jonathon Hutchinson, from the Department of Media and Communications, whose
