Dear colleagues,

We are delighted to announce the call for papers for volume 7 of New Voices: the online, peer-reviewed Asian Studies journal for outstanding Honours graduates, Masters
graduates and PhD candidates in, or from, Australia and
New Zealand. New Voices is published by the Japan Foundation, Sydney.

New Voices supports emerging local scholars of Japanese Studies
by providing them with opportunities to publish and share their early
work.
It also helps scholars to build their publication records
and experience from the outset of their careers, with a view to making
them more competitive in the academic landscape.
Additionally, New Voices provides academics and
academic supervisors with a window into the work of emerging Japanese
scholars, assisting them to benchmark the work of their students with
the work of other Japanese Studies students in the region. Further, New Voices will serve as a useful tool for
tracking the changing interests and perspectives of emerging Japanese
