<i>Celebrity Studies</i>, its bi-annual conference, and to similarly constituted research groups in North America, Asia, and Europe. Its membership is comprised of researchers from Deakin University, and from associated members world-wide. The group is presently
working on projects that include a book on David Bowie, an ethnographic led study of Youth, Community and Celebrity, the examination of Contemporary Publics, and Online Persona. An international symposium on contemporary publics will be held in Melbourne,
