font-size: x-small;">I am pleased to extend an invitation to you to attend

and participate in the third national Local Government Researchers Forum to

be held on 6th and 7th June 2013. The forum will be held at the University

of Adelaide.</span><br /><br /><span style="font-family: helvetica;

font-size: x-small;">The aim of the forum is to bring researchers and

practitioners together to share current knowledge and research, and to

discuss the implications for local government policy and

practice.</span><br /><br /><span style="font-family: helvetica; font-size:

x-small;">Over 40 abstracts have been reviewed and a preliminary program is

now available (attached). Topics to be covered include local government

finance, political and executive leadership, workforce development,

regional local government, demographic change, innovation, climate change,

local government structure and reform, and others. As part of an effort to

engage practitioners and new researchers with an interest in local

government, the forum will also include a series of workshops focussed on

building internal research capacity, including in the preparation and

publication of research papers.</span><br /><br /><span style="font-family:

helvetica; font-size: x-small;">Registrations for the event are now open

and we encourage you or a representative of your organisation to attend.

The cost of attending the forum has been kept to a minimum and total

registrations will be limited to 120 people. We also ask that you pass this

invitation on to any of your colleagues who may be interested in

attending.</span><br /><br /><span style="font-family: helvetica;
