Communities Research Network is seeking applications from PhD students and
early career researchers to participate in a masterclass with<a href="http://www2.warwick.ac.uk/fac/arts/theatre_s/cp/staff/belfiore/" target="_blank"> Associate Professor Eleonora Belfior</a>e. Selection of
participants is competitive and will be limited to 15 emerging scholars whose
research engages with the themes of “Navigating cultural theory, practice and
policy”</span></p>
<p><b><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"" lang="EN-AU"> Theme:</span></b><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"" lang="EN-AU"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"" lang="EN-AU">In an increasingly globalised and networked world, dominated by market
interests and instrumental rationality, what is the role of cultural research?
How can researchers engage in critical dialogue while also producing relevant
work that responds to contemporary issues? This masterclass explores emerging
themes in the field of cultural research by bringing together the next
generation of thinkers on issues of cultural value, policymaking and the role
of arts and humanities in contemporary society.</span></p>
<p><b><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"" lang="EN-AU">Cost: </span></b><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"" lang="EN-AU"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size:11.0pt;font-family:"Calibri","sans-serif"" lang="EN-AU">The masterclass is free of charge to successful applicants, including
afternoon tea. Participants will also be invited to a post-workshop networking
reception as part of the Making Culture Count conference.</span></p>
