(GCCR) and the School of Humanities are hosting Griffith's Third
Annual Cultural Research Postgraduate Symposium, organised by postgraduates
for postgraduates. The theme for the symposium will be 'Bodies and Belongings:
Transitions, Citizenship & Participation'. We are seeking papers on
a wide range of topics from students in various disciplines across the
humanities and social sciences: from sociologists to creative arts practitioners;
from writers to historians. We seek to offer an open and inclusive academic
space for emerging scholars to shape and develop their work, contributing
to a broader discussion on contemporary negotiations of bodies and how,
where, and if they belong.
The two‐day symposium will include multiple
themed sessions where students will present papers‐in‐progress and
a keynote presentation from Professor Johanna Wyn, Director of the Youth
Research Centre and leader of the Education, Equity and Social Change cluster
in the Melbourne Graduate School of Education within the University of
Melbourne. Johanna Wyn has written extensively on young people and their
transitions, their health and wellbeing, and their participation in culture
and society.

the symposium. We are inviting HDR students working in the Humanities,
the Arts, or conducting Cultural Research to submit abstracts for consideration
in the program. The event is also open to interested staff and undergraduate
students, though HDR students will be considered favourably.
