<span style="font-weight: bold;">Queering Paradigms III</span><br><br>Following the success of the two international Queering Paradigms<br>conferences, held in February 2009 at Canterbury Christ Church<br>University, UK, and in April 2010 at The Faculty of Law, Queensland<br>University of Technology, Brisbane, AU, the Africana &amp; Latino Studies &amp;<br>Philosophy Departments at SUNY - Oneonta are pleased to announce<br>the 2011 conference, Queering Paradigms III. The aim of this<br>conference is to examine the present reality and future challenges in<br>Queer Studies from a broad, trans-disciplinary perspective, including<br>queeries of the discourse and paradigms of the inter-discipline.<br><br>We invite:<br><br>Challenges to existing theoretical frameworks<br>Works engaging lgbtiq activism or community organizing by lgbti<br>networks<br><br>Papers which critique the relevance of concepts and paradigms<br>applied to the global South which are drawn from the political<br>economies and cultures of the global North, and are grounded in<br>an examination of past and present social practices.<br><br>Investigations of lgbtiq transnational studies, citizenship studies,<br>and new diasporic studies which consider the production of<br>contemporary citizen sexual subjects as connected to their<br>histories of colonialism, neo-colonialism, and war.<br><br>Critical queering of institutions - schools, universities, religious,<br>military and non-governmental organizations - are equally welcome.<br><br>See attachment for details.<br><br><br><br>
