</SPAN></FONT></B><SPAN STYLE='font-size:12.0px'>This scholarship is associated with the CRC for Rail Innovation <a href="http://www.railcrc.net.au/"><http://www.railcrc.net.au/></a> project 'A socio-economic study of platform and carriage crowding in the railway industry'. The aim of this project is to understand customer experiences of crowding on rail services, decision-making and trade-offs around crowding in the Australian rail industry. <BR>

Whilst the successful candidate will be involved primarily in the qualitative research elements (through ethnography and focus groups in five Australian states), an understanding of quantitative research methods would be advantageous. This scholarship is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with qualitative expertise to carry out fieldwork-based research and engage with industry. There is scope for the candidate to propose and develop other related projects. <BR>
