Asian Australian Media, Society and Culture Symposium
November 18-19, 2024, UTS
We are inviting applications for people interested in presenting research on contemporary Asian Australian media, society and culture. This symposium will be held at the University of Technology Sydney on Monday 18-Tuesday 19 November 2024. It is funded by the U.S. Embassy in Canberra.
We welcome different disciplinary and methodological approaches, and invite papers on topics that broadly touch on themes of Asian Australian media, society and/or culture, including:
* Asian Australian representations
* Intergenerational connections
* Discourses around education and work
* Connections between Asian Australian, First Nations and Pacific Studies
* Asian Australian food cultures
* Transnational perspectives on Asian Australian studies
* Migration and diaspora studies
* Intersectional perspectives on Asian Australian identity
* Mediating Asian Australian experience
* Intercultural relations
* Asian Australians and urban landscapes
This symposium will be a chance to meet and network with researchers working on contemporary Asian Australian research, and to present your research in a supportive environment.
