21st century education has changed beyond all recognition: virtual teaching, flipped classrooms, ungrading, collective syllabi and the teacher as learner are concepts that, for some in built environment disciplines, are now well-established. However, this is far from uncontested terrain. Reflecting this scenario, this conference seeks presentations from across built environment fields that address these new and still contested ‘schools of thought’. It welcomes discussions on best practices, student-centered learning and engaged teaching from around the globe. It is organised by Departments of Architecture, Planning and Design in the USA, Indonesia and Chile.

Call

Today, media, technology and digital modalities abound in every field: Industry 4.0, Intelligent Cities, Augmented Realities, Artificial Intelligence, etc. The questions this raises across the built environment are boundless and interlinked. In this context it is impossible to separate out disciplinary fields. It is equally impossible to separate theoretical from practical questions. In response this conference explores the impact of media and technologies across the built environment. It is organised by Departments of Architecture, Planning and Design in the USA, Brazil and South Korea.
