Great news! The next book in the 33 1/3 Oceania series, published by Bloomsbury, is now available to buy as an e-book or online from international booksellers. It is by Darren Jorgensen and is on the album Clyma Est Mort by the Dead C. The Dead C, from Aotearoa/New Zealand, released this album of a live gig played for one person in 1993. Perhaps best described as a noise band whose work was founded in improvisation, the Dead C offer an alternative side to the flowering of music in Aotearoa/New Zealand most usually associated with the jangle pop of the Dunedin Sound. I commend to you this excellent addition to the 33 1/3 Oceania series. If you don’t add it to your own bookshelf, literal or metaphorical, please do ensure that your university library purchases it. This book will be available in hard copy on September 7.

The webpage for the 33 1/3 Oceania series can be found here: https://www.bloomsbury.com/au/series/33-13-oceania/ . Enquires about the series, including pitches for books that might be included in the series, should be addressed to either Jon Stratton at jon.stratton at unisa.edu.au<mailto:jon.stratton at unisa.edu.au> for general enquiries and for books on albums from Australia and the Pacific region, and Jon Dale at jonathon.dale at gmail.com<mailto:jonathon.dale at gmail.com> for books on albums from Aotearoa/New Zealand.

Stay safe,

Jon
