About the Role
We are seeking a Lecturer in Cultural Studies to contribute to teaching and research within the School of Culture and Communication.
Cultural Studies at the University of Melbourne is part of the dual-discipline Program in Screen and Cultural Studies. Our discipline is interested in how contemporary life is being transformed by the intensified mobilities of people and cultures; the everyday impacts of new media technologies; and the social and environmental consequences of industrial modernization.
Responsibilities include:
* Subject (module) coordination and delivery
* Curriculum design and innovation, including cross-disciplinary approaches
* Development of technology-based teaching, learning, and assessment programs and resources
* Research outputs including (but are not limited to) peer-reviewed journal articles, book chapters, books, creative works, and commissioned reports
About You
You are an experienced Teaching Specialist with a passion for teaching excellence in a range of cultural studies theories, intellectual traditions, and methods. You will have experience in teaching diverse cohorts in a manner that reflects the global dimensions of the discipline.
You will also have:
* A completed Ph.D. in cultural studies or a closely related discipline
* Capacities for syllabus/curriculum design and teaching innovation
* A developing profile of high-quality research outputs relevant to cultural studies
* Capacity to supervise honours and postgraduate coursework degree theses
