The University of Melbourne’s Arts and Cultural Management program presents:



*Climate Change and Sustainability in the Arts: What Can We Do?*



The University of Melbourne’s Arts and Cultural Management program presents
an industry forum on the topic of climate change and sustainability in the
Australian arts sector. The event will include a panel discussion with key
representatives from arts organisations in Victoria, followed by a Q & A
session. The event will conclude with a casual reception.



Panel speakers include:

*About the Panel:*



*Associate Professor Kate MacNeill, **Graduate School of Humanities and
Social Science and the Faculty of Arts, **University of Melbourne*

Associate Professor MacNeill is Director of the Graduate School of
Humanities and Social Sciences and Associate Dean (Graduate Studies) in the
Faculty of Arts. She is a member of the Master of Arts and Cultural
Management program in the School of Culture and Communication. With a
background in law and economics she had extensive experience in policy work
in the government and non-government sector prior to returning to study art
history and obtaining a PhD in Art History (Identity and contemporary
Australian art). Her research interests include the intersection between
law and artistic practice (in particular cultures of intellectual property
and censorship), leadership in the arts and cultural sector, and ethics and
creative practices.



*Fiona Poletti, **Executive Director, External Engagement, Arts Centre
Melbourne*

Fiona Poletti is responsible for External Engagement at Arts Centre
Melbourne (ACM). She oversees  government advocacy, strategic partnerships,
impact measurement, new business development and the Reconciliation Action
Plan (RAP) at ACM. Fiona has worked as a senior advisor for a Federal
Communications and Arts Minister and has advised the Australia Council for
the Arts. She has also   worked at the Australian Embassy Tokyo in public
diplomacy. Before joining ACM in 2015, Fiona worked as the project manager
for Earth Hour in Melbourne (2008) and served as the Director of Planning
and Development and a staff-elected board representative for Circus Oz.



*Bronwyn Johnson, **Executive Director, CLIMARTE*

Bronwyn Johnson is the Executive Director and Board Member of CLIMARTE and
directed and produced CLIMARTE’s ART+CLIMATE=CHANGE 2019 festival, which
presented over 30 exhibitions and events across Melbourne and regional
Victoria. She is the former Chair and honorary member of the Galleries and
Collections committee at Arts Project Australia, the leading supported
visual arts studio for artists with intellectual disabilities, and a member
of the Sustainability Committee at Melbourne Girls’ College, Richmond.
Prior to her work with CLIMARTE, Bronwyn produced outdoor performance
programs for the Melbourne International Festival for the Arts and
developed the Melbourne Art Fair into one of the leading visual art events
of the Asia Pacific from 1996 to 2011.



*Hannah Presley, **Curator of Indigenous Art, National Gallery of Victoria*

Hannah Presley is an Aboriginal curator based in Melbourne. She is
currently Curator of Indigenous Art at the National Gallery of Victoria and
was recently inaugural curator for the Yalingwa program at Australian
Centre for Contemporary Art (ACCA). Hannah was a First Nations Curatorial
Assistant for* My Horizon*: *Tracey Moffatt at the 57th International Art
Exhibition*, Venice Biennale 2017. Her practice focuses on the development
of creative projects with Aboriginal artists. She works closely with
artists and through her curatorial approach she helps audiences learn about
the techniques, history and community that informs Indigenous Australian
art making. Recent curatorial projects include *A Lightness of Spirit is
the Measure of Happiness*, 2018, ACCA, Melbourne;*Every Second Feels Like A
Century*, (with Debbie Pryor), 2017, West Space, Melbourne.



*Michael Hudson, **Director, Strategy, Screen & Design, Creative Victoria*

Michael Hudson is Director, Strategy, Screen and Design in Creative
Victoria, which supports and promotes Victoria’s creative industries,
across arts, culture, screen and design.  Michael has worked as a lawyer
and academic, as well as in a range of public sector roles supporting
government and industry innovation. Before moving to Creative Victoria in
2014, Michael worked for 15 years at the forefront of innovation and
information technology policy, and delivered programs to assist Victorian
businesses, communities and government. He currently oversees creative
industries policy development and was one of the architects of the 2016
strategy *Creative State*.
