Apologies for cross-posting ... hope to see you in Melbourne!

Annual ASPERA Conference 2018: Screen Interventions

Where: VCA Film and Television, University of Melbourne, Melbourne Australia

When: 27 - 29 June 2018

The Australian Screen Production Education and Research Association (ASPERA) Annual Conference will be held at the VCA, University of Melbourne, Australia, between 27 and 29 June 2018.
This year’s conference theme is Screen Interventions. We’re interested in the ways that screen production can be used to ‘intervene’ in wider cultural, social and political ideas and debates; how interventions might be made with, by and/or for the screen; and what interventions have taken place in screen production education and research. We encourage those submitting abstracts to interpret this theme variously.
The conference convenors invite papers, topics for panels, interactive workshops, posters and exhibits that explore the concept of screen interventions.
Both double-blind, peer reviewed full papers, and non-peer reviewed papers are welcome to be presented.
Double-blind peer reviewed papers will have the opportunity to be published after the conference in a special issue of Refractory: a Journal of Entertainment Media (https://refractory-journal.com).
Postgraduate student submissions, and submissions from international academics and practitioners, are strongly encouraged.
Please submit all proposals and enquiries to conference at aspera.org.au
