The Centre for Lacanian Analysis and the New Zealand Forum of the Lacanian Field are pleased to announce the 2017 CLA/NZF Conference on the theme of ‘Desire’ (Auckland, 3-5 November).

Please send your abstracts (up to 250 words) and a brief bio by Monday 4th September 2017 to Dr. Gustavo Restivo at gustavo.restivo at gmail.com<mailto:gustavo.restivo at gmail.com>

You will be notified of the acceptance of your paper by Monday 18th September. All abstracts will be peer reviewed.

Keynote Speaker: Dr. Dany Nobus (UK) will speak on his new book ‘The Law of Desire’, which offers the first comprehensive discussion of Lacan’s Kant with Sade.

The conference programme will also include a full day workshop with Dr. Nobus, focusing on the direction of psychoanalytic treatment and the training of psychoanalysts.

Dr. Nobis is Professor of Psychoanalysis at Brunel University London, and Chair of the Freud Museum, UK. He is the author of ‘Jacques Lacan and the Freudian Practice of Psychoanalysis’ and, with Malcolm Quinn, ‘Knowing Nothing, Staying Stupid: Elements for a Psychoanalytic Epistemology’, alongside numerous papers on the history, theory and practice of psychoanalysis.
