The Macquarie University Research Fellowship (MQRF) Scheme is now open for initial Expressions of Interest.

If the Department is able to sponsor your application, you will be notified by 10 May 2017. Sponsored applicants will then be invited to work with their sponsors to develop their formal Expressions of Interest which must be submitted to the University by 24 May 2017.

The Department has an excellent record of attracting successful MQRF postdoctoral applicants who have developed impressive research careers. A list of past and current postdoctoral fellows can be found here<http://www.mq.edu.au/about/about-the-university/faculties-and-departments/faculty-of-arts/departments-and-centres/department-of-philosophy/research> (under the sub-headings ‘Postdoctorate’ and ‘Macquarie Postdocs’).

It is important that there is a good fit between the research interests of applicants and sponsors as well as with the University's Research Strengths<http://www.mq.edu.au/research/about-research-at-macquarie/research-strengths> or priority areas and the Faculty's transdisciplinary Research Themes<http://www.mq.edu.au/about/about-the-university/faculties-and-departments/faculty-of-arts/research/faculty-research-themes> and Streams, which make a major contribution to the University Research Priority Areas of Resilient Societies<http://www.mq.edu.au/research/research-centres-groups-and-facilities/resilient-societies/centres/macquarie-university-research-centre-for-agency,-values-and-ethics> and Healthy People<http://www.mq.edu.au/research/research-centres-groups-and-facilities/healthy-people>.

For this reason, potential applicants are strongly advised to take these research priorities into account and to review the research profiles of potential sponsors from within the specific areas of research specialization in the Department of Philosophy. These can be viewed via the Department staff list at:
