Andrew Lowenthal is the Co-founder and Director of EngageMedia, an Asia-Pacific human rights and environmental non-profit exploring the intersection of video, technology and social change. His work traverses non-profit leadership and development, video distribution and social impact, documentary network building, research, and software development.
He was previously a fellow at Harvard's Film Studies Center and Berkman Center for Internet and Society, and a fellow at MIT's Open Documentary Lab. From 2006-08 he worked with the Tactical Technology Collective as their Participatory Media Project Lead, and was active in the Indymedia network in the early to mid 2000s.
Andrew will speak about EngageMedia's documentary and social impact activities within the framework of "Video for Change". EngageMedia recently release a beta of a Video for Change Impact Cookbook<https://www.v4c.org/cookbook>.
