Presented by:

Curtin Centre for Human Rights Education, Researchers Against Pacific Black Sites and Deathscapes Project Team

Venue: Room 402:220 Lecture Theatre, Curtin University

During International Human Rights Week in December 2015, Researchers Against Black Sites convened a series of public events in which members of the community came together to call the Australian government to account for its treatment of asylum seekers and refugees and its failure to uphold the human rights conventions to which Australia has committed itself under international law.

The Calls to Account were held in Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, and featured readers from all walks of life, including activists, artists and academics. (See http://researchersagainstpacificblacksites.org/index.php/2015/12/18/rapbs-call-toaccount-2015/)

These Calls to Account have now been gathered into a moving and powerful documentary. To coincide with the Human Rights Film Festival a number of pop-up screenings will be held throughout May, beginning with a screening at Curtin University on May 12 at which Human Rights Commissioner Professor Gillian Triggs will be present.
