Dear All
I am very pleased to advise that borderlands special issue 14.1, 'The Politics of Suffering' is now available online: http://www.borderlands.net.au/issues/vol14no1.html
This special issue addresses the politics of suffering from multiple perspectives and while focusing especially on the politics of Palestinian suffering, it also interrogates the institutionally-sanctioned forms of violence, suffering and repression that continue to inform the politics of other (post)colonial nation states and that underpin concepts of international justice more generally.
Tony Burke, the managing editor of borderlands, describes this special issue as both rich in content and very important and expresses a special thanks to the editors and authors for their efforts. We are very grateful to Nadera Shalhoub-Kevorkian for her hard work and commitment, and to all the other authors who contributed articles: Joseph Pugliese, Suvendrini Perera, Rosemary Sayigh, Rema Hammami, Sarah Ihmoud, Goldie Osuri, Jasbir Puar, Nadim Rouhani, Sunera Thobani, Dino Abazovic and Magid Shihade. Thanks also to Ian Dixon and Harriette Richards for their book reviews. This comprehensive and critically incisive special issue of borderlands e-journal is a credit to you all.
Very best wishes
Anne
