*NAPU Collaborative Workshop in Melbourne*The National Alliance for Public
Universities (NAPU) has been formed in response to an unprecedented attack
being made on public universities. NAPU seek to give voice to the
researchers, teachers, administrators and other staff who oppose the
deregulation of fees and other actions that undermine public participation
and open decision-making in the university sector.

NAPU will hold their first public meeting for Melbourne, following a
similar event in Sydney recently, with the aim of establishing a permanent
presence in Victoria's urban and regional universities. This will be an
opportunity to discuss and workshop initial ideas about how best to proceed
in Victoria. Details for the meeting are below.
