 Applications are invited for the post of Senior Lecturer in Digital Culture in the Department of Media Arts.

The Department invites applicants for the above post to take a leading role in its new BA/BSc Digital Media Communications and the development of research in the area of digital culture. The successful candidate will play a key role in bringing together the disciplines and departments of Media Arts and Computer Science. They will provide innovative teaching and leadership in the creative use of social and digital media for storytelling, communications and artistic work. They will work across a dynamic department that spans theory and practice, creative and critical research that was ranked in the top 10 UK institutions for media research in the REF2014. As such, the role requires the post holder to bring a critical knowledge of current industry practice in digital culture and social media into the practical application of media creation.

We seek applicants with a proven track record of high quality research and/or equivalent production experience in digital culture with a specialism in social media. Ideally you will have worked in a research or professional environment in which audiovisual media content is connected to social media platforms with demonstrable experience of innovation in the use of such platforms. You will have some technical skills in digital platforms, such as coding or html, and have a PhD or equivalent professional experience and outputs that demonstrate a detailed knowledge of digital culture. You will be able to strengthen our relationships with media industries, particularly in the area of social media or digital media production more widely.

This is a full time and permanent post, available from June 1 2015 or as soon as possible thereafter. This post is based in Egham, Surrey where the College is situated in a beautiful, leafy campus near to Windsor Great Park and within commuting distance from London.
