This symposium opens up new conversations about Asia, culture, and media from the vantage points of Pacific regions like Canada, the US and Australia, whose complex relation with Asia is continually mediated by histories and policies of migration, economic ambition, and geo-political positioning. It examines how the flows of memory, bodies, capital and cultural representations across different spatial imaginaries may transform our understanding of what constitutes “region” and “border.”
